Trusted Rigging Services for Technical and Logistical Challenges
The A&A rigging services team had planned for a pharmaceutical manufacturing project since early 2021 which was centered around a boiler install. In 2024, the project was underway in Lansdale, PA and a boiler was set to arrive in July. Our rigging services team was ready to receive and install the boiler on-site. However, the project was complex and required innovative engineering prior to the arrival of the boiler. The A&A rigging team had to unload the 124,000 lb. boiler outside of the facility gates from an oversized 13-axle truck and trailer, which was 165 feet long and had a certain height clearance. Due to the size of the boiler, it traveled across the country on its side so the team had to roll the boiler to its final position when unloading. To avoid a critical two-crane lift plan, the project management team developed a remarkable set up to perform the pick and roll safely. A four-post gantry system was built in conjunction with (4) Air Hoists to complete the roll. The layout was drafted and measured in place on a rough and skewed asphalt lot and had to be leveled and plumbed.
