Our team of 10 quickly came together – one from Wilmington, three from Philadelphia, five from Washington DC, and one from San Antonio. Six major lift outs, bearing swap out, and six lifts back in. The team used 304,000 lbs. of force with a bolt stretcher to loosen the case bolts and 304,000 lbs. of force to tighten the case bolts. The job was completed in half the time expected! Saving the customer money, downtime, and ability to meet critical customer deliveries.
The top cover weighed 25,000 lbs.
Gear shafts weighed as much as 62,000 lbs.
